When a loved one dies, family members and friends are suddenly confronted with
all kinds of decisions about the funeral arrangements. Often these decisions
must be made quickly and during a time of grief and loss. What kind of funeral
should be planned? Will the body be buried or cremated? What legal requirements
must be met? Who must be contacted? Will there be a memorial service?
Our professional and caring staff is here to guide you through every step of the
way. It is our job and our privilege to help you during your time of need.
We are a family owned and operated, full service funeral home, crematory and
cemetery. It is our goal to provide your loved one with care and dignity
from the moment of their passing until well after services are completed. It is also our hope to provide you and your family with
caring support and counsel while designing services that fit your needs and the
wishes of your loved one.
We can organize all aspects of the funeral services while providing a number
of affordable choices and options from traditional funeral services, cremation,
burial, memorial services, inurnment or scattering. We will explain all of your
options and answer all of your questions so that you may make informed and
appropriate decisions.
Funeral and Memorial
Services are a celebration, remembrance and tribute to the life of the
deceased. Services may be set up in our chapels, outdoors, at a church or
other location. Evergreen
Mortuary also ships in or ships out human remains to or from other states and
countries.
How you choose to care for the deceased is always up to you. We
understand that every family is different and we honor all choices. All costs
are disclosed in writing and you may choose only those services (except those
that are required by law) that you deem appropriate.

Funeral and Cremation Services
At Evergreen Mortuary, we believe that memorial services are a
celebration of life and are a way for the living to remember and pay tribute to
the life of the deceased. It is our goal to make the memorial service a positive
and uplifting event that will bring peace and comfort to family and friends.
The following descriptions are a simple explanation of some of
the options that we provide but we will work with you and your family to tailor
the service to your needs.
Modern Funeral Services: It
is becoming more and more common for families to choose cremation with a
celebratory memorial service. The service may take place at the graveside or may
be held later. Some families choose to keep the ashes while other may scatter
the ashes at place of their choosing.
Traditional Funeral Services:
This usually includes a viewing or visitation, formal funeral service, use of a
hearse to transport the body to the cemetery, and burial or entombment. This may include embalming and dressing
if requested.
Direct Burial: The body is
buried shortly after death usually in a simple container; no viewing or
visitation is involved so embalming is not necessary. A memorial service may be
held at the graveside or later.
Direct Cremation: The body
is cremated shortly after death, without embalming. The cremated remains are
place in an urn or container. There is no viewing or visitation although a
memorial service may be planned. The family may keep the remains, have them
buried, placed in a niche in the cemetery or have them scattered.
