Antonietta "Janet" Gianna Baskin

June 13, 1950 — June 21, 2025

Longmont, Colorado

Antonietta Gianna “Janet” Baskin of Longmont, Colorado, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Though she has left this world, her wry wit, resilience, and occasional criminal mind- if the situation warranted- will be fondly remembered by all those who knew her.

Janet was born in Trieste, Italy, to an Italian mother and American father. She came to America as a young child, landing initially in Boston. Eventually, her father’s military career led him and his family to Columbus, Georgia, where she spent most of her life.

A realtor for over 25 years, Janet was dedicated to helping people find their perfect house. It was a natural fit for her, as she had a love of all things related to the home, especially decorating. Her friends and family know that holidays were always special, as she was someone who not only decorated her home in a way that would rival Martha Stewart, she would also gladly give her time to help you decorate your home as well. She spent so much effort making sure her family and friends had magical holidays, with Halloween and Christmas being her favorite times of the year. Those same family and friends also enjoyed the service of her being their free personal shopper as well. She always tried to help and take care of those she loved.

Janet is survived by her children, Sherry Baskin and Brandi Valentine, her grandchildren Brianna Valentine and Joshua Toland, her nephew Christopher Wilson, her son-in-law Dustin Christmann, and her large circle of friends who were family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Olga Crawford, her brother Mike Crawford, and her beloved partner, Clint Johnson.

Janet will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Park, located in Evergreen, Colorado. There will be no formal service at this time. The family encourages those who knew her to remember her in the quiet moments when you know your outfit is not quite right or your Christmas mantle needs a little more oomph, just stop and ask yourself “What would Janet do?”
