Barbara M. Moskal, age 55, passed away on July 20, 2023. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Tori Elizabeth Field, partner in life, Larry Pacer, and best friends, Carol Baptiste, Cathy Skokan, and Laura Kosbar. She was the daughter of Barbara (Harsh) Moskal and the late Stanley L. Moskal of Mt. Lebanon, PA. and sister to Stanley (Linda) Moskal Jr., Dennis Moskal, and the late Daniel E. Moskal. She was aunt to Justin (Amanda; Norlan and Nathan) Moskal, Tyler Moskal, Connor Moskal, Brett Moskal, Scott Moskal, Lindsay Moskal, and Riley Moskal.
“Barb” graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School (1986), completed a BA at Duquesne University (1989), and received her masters in mathematics (1991) and doctorate in Mathematics Education (1997) from the University of Pittsburgh. During her education, she developed a passion for mathematics and writing. She joined the mathematics department at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Co (1997). In 2017 after 20 years as a Professor at Mines, she accepted a distant appointment for Texas Tech University. Her professional career inspired her love for people. Throughout her career, she sought to support and inspire the next generation as they advanced in their knowledge and their own careers. She experienced her greatest success in her daughter, Tori Field. Barb received numerous teaching and research awards and published over 100 peer reviewed professional articles. She was proud of her professional work as a teacher and mentor to students and junior faculty. She was personally proud and happy to be a mom.

A memorial mass service was held for Barb on Monday, July 31 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lakewood located at 1985 Miller St, Lakewood, CO.
