Bonnie Lewis Deener

1947 - 2022

Bonnie Lewis Deener passed away peacefully in her home March 8, 2022. Bonnie was born in Cheverly, Maryland on June 30, 1947, the daughter of Edward and Theda Lewis. She married Howard Deener, and together with her parents moved to Colorado in the 1970’s. She worked in the credit union industry for 30+ years, heading up the Human Resources department and eventually becoming Chief Administrative Officer of University Of Colorado Federal Credit Union. She retired from the banking world in 2007, and became Associate Pastor at The Rising Church in Arvada, Colorado. Bonnie loved music and played piano and sang in her church choir and praise band for more than 40 years. She loved the outdoors and the wildlife of the Colorado mountains, and became a gifted photographer of her beloved elk, deer, foxes and bears. Her loving impact on the lives of so many is immeasurable. She will be greatly missed.
