On September 15, 2026, Debbie Karen Martin left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.
Debbie was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 1, 1952 to Melton Rex Frye and Nalda Glynn (Loftin) Frye. After moving from Burkburnett, Texas, she was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1970. Then she attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in May 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.
In 1982, she started dating her future husband, Ron. She said that he was the only one that she ever went out with on a second date. And they were married on September 18, 1982 at the First Baptist Church of Duncan, Oklahoma.
Due to Ron’s job, they moved immediately to Ventura, California. And they spent 3.5 years there until Ron’s job moved them to Dallas, Texas.
After moving to the Dallas area, they were able to settle down, buy a house, and have two children. On September 1, 1986 (Labor Day), Debbie had a son – Joshua. And on March 15, 1989, she had a daughter – Rachel.
In 2011, they (minus Rachel who stayed in Texas for college) moved to Evergreen, Colorado to be close to Ron’s father (who was starting to have some memory issues). After buying a house, they moved Debbie’s parents up from Oklahoma to live with them.
Debbie’s employments ranged from executive secretary to preschool director to financial secretary. She even worked at the Evergreen Wal-Mart Vision Center.
The things that Debbie enjoyed were reading, quilting, sewing, cooking, singing, playing the piano, and working with children. In children’s ministry, she was well known for her creativity, her teaching skills, and her love for children. And the children loved her, too.
Debbie was a very godly and loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Her life touched the lives of many.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents – Rex & Nalda Frye (Evergreen, CO). Her survivors include her husband - Ronald James Martin (Evergreen, CO); her two children – Joshua Daniel Martin (Berthoud, CO) and Rachel Sarah Martin (Loveland, CO); and her brother – Melton Todd Frye (Avon, CO).
