Donald Richard Grady

February 9, 1947 — October 2, 2025

Donald Richard Grady, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado with his family by his side.

Don was born on February 9, 1947 to Donald Richard Grady and Anne Magdalene Grady (Jacob) at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from St. Francis High School and the University of Toledo. Don worked for Ohio Bell, Mountain Bell, American Bell, Lucent, and Avaya. Don was in marketing design and selling telephone equipment to large companies. While working at Ohio Bell, he was also a Junior Achievement advisor, and that is where he met Pattie. One day in June of 1981 he said to Pattie, “Let’s get married and move to Denver – in two weeks!” They married on July 3, 1981 and moved to Denver; what an adventure they had.

Don and Pattie were married for 44 years, spending most of their life together in Bailey, Colorado. They commuted together daily from Baily to Lakewood and Denver. Don was an avid fisherman; he particularly loved fishing for walleyes. Most importantly, however, Don loved spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his loving wife Pattie (Fouke) of Bailey, Colorado; sister (Paul) Mealy of Greenville, Pennsylvania; brother George Grady of Rufus, Oregon; and sister Tina (Terry) Clay of Oregon, Ohio. Daughter Stephanie (Robert) Lawrence of Columbus, Ohio; and son Joshua (Trina) Grady of Bailey, Colorado. Grandchildren Brandon (Hannah) Grady of Lakewood, Colorado; Richard Lawrence of Columbus, Ohio; and Jake Lawrence of Columbus, Ohio. Don also leaves behind brother-in-law Bill (Sharon) Fouke of Fremont, Indiana; sister-in-law Nancy Stanton of Oregon, Ohio; sister-in-law Karen (Brian) Wilhelm of Curtice, Ohio; sister-in-law Lynne (Butch) Downes of Oregon, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews, especially Brandee Gravelle, who visited him often.

Lastly, a special thanks to Platte Canyon Fire/Rescue and St. Anthony’s ICU Trauma team members who provided exceptional care to Don.

A celebration of Don’s Life will be held on October 24th, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park, 26614 N. Turkey Creek Rd., Evergreen Colorado 80439.
