Dorothy Shirley Glytas, age 90, was called home gently to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2026. Dorothy was born on September 15, 1935, in Illinois, to Vernon and Audrey Baker. She was one of five siblings, three brothers and a sister.
Dorothy married Ed Hergenroeder in 1955, and together they had four children: David Edger (1956), Kenneth Donald (1958–2008), Dorese Dawn (1966), and Philip David (1961- ).
She took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Danielle (1977–2024), Courtnei, and Adam, and as a great-grandmother to Kaitlin, Zaydin, Quinten, and Cullen, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Happily, Dot found love again and married Vytas Glytas in 1972. Their marriage was rooted in a shared devotion to God, which helped them support each other's dreams throughout their enduring partnership. Together, they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. In 1980, Dorothy and Vyto moved from Illinois to Colorado, settling in the small mountain community of Pine, where they built their home and established lasting roots.
Dorothy dedicated many years to her career at Coors in Golden, Colorado, where she worked as a Micrographics Technician until her retirement.
A faithful Christian, Dorothy was a longtime member of Mountain High Chapel. Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and strong spirit were evident to all who knew her. She found great joy in her afternoon tea, reading, traveling, and, above all, spending time with her family and grandchildren, who were the center of her life.
Dorothy will be remembered for her enduring faith, sharp humor, and her deep love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, devotion, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A burial service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, 26624 N Turkey Creek Rd, Evergreen, CO 80439, on April 25 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at Mountain High Chapel, 8444 US Hwy 285, Morrison, CO 80465.
