Faye Graves Fathalikhani, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away at home on August 3, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 4, 1959, in Jackson, Mississippi, Faye was the cherished daughter of Charles and Doris Graves and the beloved sister of Glenda Allday and Larry Graves.
Faye’s life was defined by her warmth, dedication to her family, and her love of life. After graduating from Mississippi College, she went on to complete her physical therapy training at New York University.
Faye first met Hadi Fathalikhani at a roller rink in Mississippi, and their bond deepened as they attended college together. They quickly became inseparable, and in 1980, they were married at a church in Jackson, Mississippi—an event that marked the beginning of their lifelong journey together. After living in Florida for a time, Faye & Hadi moved to New York to attend PT school at NYU, furthering their education and their professional dreams. They spent the next 44 years building a life rich with love, laughter, and shared memories. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, David and Daniel, who were the light of Faye’s life and her greatest pride.
Faye’s career as a physical therapist in Northern Virginia was marked not only by her professional skill but by her deep empathy and commitment to her patients. She was known for her unique ability to make everyone feel cared for and seen in her special way. Outside of her work, Faye loved the outdoors and found peace and joy in hiking along the Appalachian Trail and the Colorado Trail, where she connected with nature in a deeply personal way.
Faye’s love of adventure and service took her across the globe. She traveled extensively, both for leisure and for missionary work, visiting places as diverse as towns in Cambodia, the mountains of South America, the wilderness of Africa, and the bustling cities of Europe and the Middle East. Faye’s mission work allowed her to serve others with compassion, spreading hope and love wherever she went. Her travels enriched her spirit, deepening her understanding of the world and the people she encountered.
In 2022, after decades of dedicated service at Kaiser, Faye and Hadi retired to her dream home in Pine, Colorado, where Faye immediately fell in love with the mountain views that greeted her each day. In retirement, Faye embraced her passions, becoming an enthusiastic pickleball player, an active member of her book club, and a gracious hostess. Her baking, in particular, was nothing short of legendary. Faye had a special gift for creating the most delicious and comforting treats, from freshly baked cookies to decadent cakes and the world’s best banana pudding. She had a special gift of making everyone feel at home and her baked goods were a symbol of her nurturing spirit. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple afternoon tea, Faye’s baking had a way of bringing people together, sparking joy, and creating lasting memories.
Faye will be remembered for her boundless love, her generosity, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel at home. She lived a life filled with adventure, compassion, and connection, and her legacy lives on through her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Hadi; her sons, David and Daniel; and all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of Faye’s life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11am Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in Faye’s honor to the Anchor Center for Blind Children, a cherished Colorado nonprofit.
