Florence "Lulu" Lungowe Puteho

In Loving Memory of Florence Lungowe (Lulu) Puteho August 15, 1972 – February 13, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved friend, Florence Lungowe (Lulu) Puteho, who left this world on February 13, 2025. Born on August 15, 1972, in the small village of Senda, Kalabo, in the western part of Zambia, Bo Lulu carried the warmth and strength of her roots wherever she went.

She attended both her primary and secondary education in Western Province. She had a passion for teaching and hence upon graduation she worked as an assistant teacher at Kalale Primary School and Kaoma Pre School. It was her passion for teaching and her love for culture that led her to the YMCA and subsequently to the USA in 2001 as an exchange student under the YMCA Program.

A compassionate soul, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering generosity. In the USA she worked as Nurse Aide and brought joy and care to her residents, always ready to brighten someone’s day. Whether as a devoted family member, a cherished friend, or a pillar of her community, she gave of herself selflessly, always ready to uplift and support those around her.

Her laughter was infectious, her spirit unbreakable, and her love boundless. Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by Son- Moola Mwanangombe and daughter -Masiliso Malamo, Granddaughter Nina Lungowe Mupisha. Siblings Nyambe Puteho, Pelekelo Puteho, Marble Katungu Puteho, Mushokabanji Puteho, Wamudila Puteho, Namagolwa Maswabi, Chuma Muhau and a circle of friends who will forever cherish the moments they shared with her.

Rest in peace, Bo Lulu. You were truly a light in this world, and though you are gone, your love and legacy will never fade.
