Kim was the beloved daughter of the late Warren & Virginia Johnston.  She passed away in a tragic accident on October 21st at age 67 in Idaho Springs, CO.  Kim graduated Forest Park High School in Beaumont then studied at Kansas City Music Conservatory & went on to earn a degree in Music/Voice from LSU.  Kim toured North America & Europe, & she had a flourishing musical career that encompassed opera, chorale music, & musical therapy.  She was gifted at the organ, piano, guitar, bass fiddle, & harmonica; & she loved gardening, fishing, camping, & crabbing in Texas.  Kim is fondly remembered for having a big heart & helping people in need.  She opened her home to everyone she met & delighted in entertaining her guests, Her smile & laughter brightened every room she entered.  On her 15th birthday Kim climbed her first mountain, & in early retirement she was proud to realize her dream of making the Colorado Rockies her home.  She regularly enjoyed hiking the tranquil mountains where she felt close with God, & she found divine serenity upon being baptized in a mountain stream.  Kim is survived by her husband, Bill Connelly; 2 daughters: Katie Walker of Austin, TX & Jane Connelly of Idaho Springs, CO; 2 sisters: Karen Johnston & Judy Rouchon (Pat); 6 adoring nieces & nephews: Ben, Molly, Murphy, Elissa, Leah, & Lara; and their children.
