Lindsey Danielle Barnett

Apr 15, 1989 — Aug 13, 2026

Lakewood, Colorado

Lindsey was taken from us all far too soon. She had so much left to give, so much to teach, so much love to spread. We are devastated by her tragic loss.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Harry and Isabel Edwards from Barrington, IL and Betty Ott from Quincy, IL. Lindsey leaves behind her daughter Piper 3 and son Liam 18 months, her Parents George and Donna Ott, Brother Brady Ott, his wife Jane Ott (Wyatt 9, Georgia 6) and Grandfather A. Hubert Ott of Quincy, Il. Lindsey had a very large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved very much.

Lindsey was born in Kansas City, Missouri April 15, 1989 and moved to Evergreen, Colorado in 1992 with her family. She attended Wilmot Elementary, Evergreen Middle School and Evergreen High School. She ran cross country and was involved in Senate and Key Club and enjoyed being in musicals and choir at the high school. Lindsey graduated from University of Northern Colorado in 2011 with a BA in Art Education K-12.

Lindsey had an incredible loving impact on her children, family, friends and students. Her kind, empathetic and generous open heart touched so many. Her radiant smile was contagious.

She had a passion for art and art history that she truly enjoyed sharing her creative nature. She started her journey of art with Evergreen Art Center in charge of programs and outreach. She taught art in schools for 15 years, including Mountain View Elementary in Parker and Stone Mountain Elementary in Highlands Ranch. Lindsey held a place in her heart for special needs children. She recently moved back to Jefferson County Schools and was teaching at Hutchinson and Westgate Elementary schools in Lakewood.

Lindsey loved painting, drawing, weaving, hiking, camping and skiing. She enjoyed traveling and history. Most of all she loved being the mom to Piper and Liam.
