Patricia Ann O’Donnell, age 72, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. Patricia was born on August 15th 1954 in Denver, Colorado to Lawrence and Marge Landry. They raised a large family of eight, with Patricia being the third in line to a true baby boomer family.
With three young children at home, Patricia worked as a housekeeper while attending college at night. In 1984, she graduated college with an Associates degree in General Studies. Patricia worked as a systems analyst and loved the challenges of new technology and IT systems. At a time when gender disparity in the IT industry was at its highest, Patricia continued to make significant contributions, working on updating computer systems in preparations for Y2K.
Friends and family appreciated Patricia’s warm and infectious laugh, her friendly nature, and admired her talent for music. Inspired by her grandfather, she enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and dancing. In spite of struggling with the challenges of mental illness, she persisted and sought to find harmony in her life and with her relationships.
Patricia found peace in the majestic Colorado mountains, towering trees, rivers and wildlife. She enjoyed being in nature as much as possible. Often she would speak of God’s handiwork being on full display in Colorado. Patricia had quite the green thumb and loved growing and tending to flowers. The family remembers that she always insisted on having a real Christmas tree because she wanted the scent of pine to fill their home. She loved spending time at Granby and Chatfield Lakes and loved to water ski, camp, hike, canoe, and swim at family reunions. Before Patricia went into the hospital, her son John took her to Chatfield Lake one last time where they talked about their gratitude for the many sweet memories spent there over years.
Patricia is survived by her children: Sandra Dean and her husband Bart, April Wise, John O’Donnell and his wife Laura, her grandchildren: Breanna, Taylor, Cory, Kaiden, Emily, Grey, Joshua, Faith, Juliana, William, and Elizabeth, her siblings: Debbie Gerloch and her husband Lynn, Laura Landry, and Gary Landry.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, November 10th at the The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations and dedications may be made in memory of Patricia at Support Colorado Parks and Wildlife @ https://cpw.state.co.us/donate.
