Richard James Deis Jr.

March 24, 1958 — April 7, 2023

The Earth lost a beautiful soul when Richard James Deis Jr. unexpectedly passed away on April 7, 2023.

Dick, or Ric as he was known to some, was born March 24, 1958, in Billings, Montana where he grew up.  After graduating high school, and working in Montana for a short time, he then moved to Denver to attend the Electronic Technical Institute.  It was at ETI that he met his future wife, Linda Penny.  What began as a friendship slowly blossomed into true love and on June 27, 1981, they were married.

After graduating from ETI, he immediately went to work full time.  A few years later he began taking classes at Metropolitan State College of Denver.  In 1992, after juggling family, work, and school, he proudly graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Computer and Management Science.

Dick and his wife were blessed with two boys.  First Joel Richard, in 1985, and three years later, Evan James was born.  He could not have been prouder of his sons and the tremendous men they’ve both become.

Dick is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, whom he cherished, Linda Penny-Deis, son Joel and his wife Alyssa, son Evan and his partner Cassy, his grandsons Preston (9) and Everett (6) who were the light of his life, his brother Kevin and his wife Marlene, his parents-in-law, Helen and Wayne, and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will be greatly missed and his memory forever cherished.

Celebration of Life will be held for Dick at 11am on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Evergreen Memorial Park (26624 North Turkey Creek Rd. Evergreen, CO 80439), with lunch to follow.
