William L. Macek (Bill) long time Evergreen resident passed away May 31, 2025. He was born in New Jersey in 1960. He and his parents moved to Colorado in 1972 and bought a house in Evergreen in 1973. They loved the mountains and hunting and fishing. The next year he joined Little Britches Rodeo and was hooked. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1978. He rode bareback for the next 23 plus years. Rodeo was his passion, and he won many rodeos and belt buckles and many championship buckles. He was involved with the Evergreen Rodeo for many years and belonged to the Evergreen Elks Lodge. He was known in Evergreen as "Cowboy Bill". He was hired in 1981 as a Meter Reader for Public Service/Excel Energy and worked there until 2006 and then worked at ACE Hardware and Benjamin Moore paint. He was laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park with his first daughter. He is survived by his 2 children and 4 granddaughters.
